State-of-the-art water management
Within the
last one hundred years, a water management system has been developed, which
isn't sustainable embedded in our natural water cycles. The central
flow-through concept of water supply and wastewater disposal has the following stations:
- freshwater withdrawal (ground or surface water)
- drinking water processing
- usage
- sewage
- sewerage
- (sewage plant)
- disposal into rivers (upstream. downstream again 1. freshwater withdrawal)
- drained into the seas (loss of freshwater)
Actually, only 10% of the worlds wastewater is treated - therfore the sewage plant is put in brackets. This means, that downstream the people are drinking diluted raw sewage in many countries. Thus, the concept has an adverse effect on our water resources
- both when water quantity and water quantity are concerned.
